Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The weekly event is meant to showcase eagerly anticipated upcoming releases…and to spread the word! This week I’m excited about:
A Darkness Absolute by Kelley Armstrong (Casey Duncan #2)
Genre: Thriller
Publisher: Random House Canada
Anticipated Release Date: February 7, 2017
When experienced homicide detective Casey Duncan first moved to the secret town of Rockton, she expected a safe haven for people like her, people running from their past misdeeds and past lives. View Spoiler »
The first book in the Casey Duncan series, CITY OF THE LOST, is one of my favourite books of 2016 so naturally I’m dying to read the sequel. A DARKNESS ABSOLUTE promises to be just as gripping as the series opener, delving more deeply into both the mysteries of Rockton and the complexities of Casey’s friendship with fellow police officer Will.
I’m anxiously counting the days until A DARKNESS ABSOLUTE is released, and I plan to read it the second it hits shelves. Here’s hoping this is another fantastic thriller from Canadian author Kelley Armstrong!

Somehow I must have missed the first book in this series! It sounds great, and I love that Armstrong is venturing into other genres.
Danya @ Fine Print .
HA, you must have missed my intense fangirling over the first book then! I absolutely loved it, Armstrong can write a thriller like nobody’s business.
Brittany
I’ve never heard of this series before, it sounds like a great thriller! Thanks for sharing ^_^ I hope you love this book!

It’s definitely up there for thriller series! I haven’t read many, but this is far and away my favourite. 🙂

Nice WoW 🙂
Danya @ Fine Print .
Thanks! I’m always excited for a new Kelley Armstrong release. 🙂

I heard good things about City of the Lost. Should read it at some point!
Danya @ Fine Print .
YES! You absolutely should, haha. I’m very curious what you’d make of this series.
Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
I saw the cover on Goodreads the other day and this one almost became my WoW this week. Sooooo excited.
Danya @ Fine Print .
ME TOO! Ugh I can’t wait. Casey Duncan is one of my favourite characters of 2016.

Ooo, Kelley Armstrong! I haven’t read any of her adult fiction books, but I loved her Age of Legends YA trilogy. So, so good. I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it, Danya! =)

Danya @ Fine Print .
Oooooh, the Age of Legends trilogy! Well, obviously the worlds are totally different between that series and this one (since it’s a thriller), but if you liked the characters in that series you’d definitely enjoy City of the Lost.
Thanks, Alyssa! 🙂

This looks really awesome I hope it meets your expectations!!
Danya @ Fine Print .
Thanks Tori! I’m stoked to get my hands on a copy.

You know I am excited about this book. I have been making grabby hands at this book ever since I read City of the Lost. I cannot get enough of Kelley Armstrong. I will read all of her books ever and it will be beautiful. I mean, I even plan to buy a copy of this book. That is how much I want to read it! (Also, my library so won’t get it in stock fast enough to feed my reading needs.)
Danya @ Fine Print .
Same Becky, same. I am SO GLAD that you love Kelley Armstrong too! Obviously I know intellectually that some people will dislike my favourite books, but I always kind of feel like those people are missing out.
PREACH! As much as I love the library, it just isn’t ideal for when you need to read a sequel ASAP.
Rebecca Baker
I do and you are to blame. There is such a sense of satisfcation knowing someone likes the same author as you especially when they write some of your favourites as you feel a bit protective of them in a way.
My library is good for many things but not for getting my eager little hands on new releases straight away.
Samantha
Gah! I really need to read City of the Lost so that I can read this one when it comes out. I’m determined not to get behind on another Armstrong series like I am on her Cainsville one.
Danya @ Fine Print .
YES! You do need to read this series, and I need to read Nadia Stafford. Then we can swap notes, haha! 😉
Siobhan
I need to catch up on this series. Frankly, any book she publishes I’ll buy.
I love the cover, but breaking the word “Darkness” is killing me! (Excuse the publishing student in me.)
Genesis @ Latte Nights Reviews
Gah I love thrillers! I have yet to read a book by Kelly Armstrong *hides in shame* But this sounds so good so I’ll have to check it out!
