I feel like the term “monthly recap” is pretty self-explanatory, but just in case here’s my spiel! I’ll be recapping what I’ve read for the month and what reviews I’ve written, along with what I’m planning to read for next month. What’s been happening in my personal life may also be making an appearance from time to time (this of course depends on whether anything interesting happens!).
What I Read in December:
- Grave Dance by Kalayna Price
- Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol
- Through the Woods by Emily Carroll
- The Good, The Bad, and The Undead by Kim Harrison
- Dreamer’s Pool by Juliet Marillier
- The Young Elites by Marie Lu
- Gifted by Kelley Armstrong
- Hexed by Kevin Hearne
Wow, I didn’t realize how slow of a reading month December was until I made this list. Probably because I spent the first two weeks of December in a mad craze of paper writing and stressing about finals. Would not recommend.

I’ve been doing pretty well with my reviews lately because I’ve taken to writing them up almost immediately after finishing the book. My old process (taking notes, then using those notes to write reviews later on) was working out alright but I felt like I was gradually falling behind on my review pile.
Reading & Blogging Updates:
So last month I pledged to participate in the #ProjectFiveBooks challenge, a reading goal that encourages you to read five books you own before buying another – or borrowing one from the library. And guess what? I’ve stuck with it! I know, I was pretty shocked too. I just satisfied my book buying urges by getting everyone on my holiday list a book (not exactly unusual). I’m planning to keep it up, so fingers crossed that I can make it work in 2015 with all the exciting new releases coming out. Since I’ve been doing so well with the challenge I decided to reward myself with a lil’ something something from the library:
Yay! I’ve heard nothing but good things about this series and everyone knows how I feel about UF, so it was only a matter of time before I got on board. Something really needs to be done about the number of UF series I’m reading right now…I’m thinking about trying to marathon a few series in 2015 to finish ’em up and at least one of my on-going series is getting abandoned because I’m not feeling it anymore (*cough Iron Druid Chronicles cough*).
