Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The weekly event is meant to showcase eagerly anticipated upcoming releases…and to spread the word! This week I’m excited about:

16096824Title: A Court of Thorns and Roses

Author: Sarah J. Maas

Genre: YA, F

Publisher: Bloomsbury Children’s

Anticipated Publication Date: May 5, 2015

When 19-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it … or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Check out the newly released cover for  A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES! Oh, Sarah J. Maas. The cover gods have been good to you. This one is being touted as a darkly romantic retelling of Beauty and the Beast combined with classic Fae lore…total Danya catnip. I want it!

  1. Probably should catch up on her other series before I start on a new one. But I so often don’t.

    1. Preach. At least there are only two for you to catch up on in the Throne of Glass series (if you exclude the collection of novellas); some series can get pretty unwieldy if you leave them for a while.

I love this cover, I saw it last week and it makes me want to read this. Great choice! I haven’t read her other books, but I know I’m like the last person on the planet.

    1. Isn’t is gorgeous? Sarah J. Maas is one to watch, I think! I’ve only read Throne of Glass but I’ve heard that the sequels show marked improvement in her writing.

  2. I learned about this book from stumbling on another WoW last week. Yes, I want! The just so slightly older target audience is probably what makes me want to read this the most, though I’ve been enjoying her Throne of Glass books.

    1. Does it have an older target audience? I didn’t realize that! More’s the better, then. It sounds like A Court of Thorns and Roses is going to be dark and atmospheric, two things I can’t resist.

This cover is so gorgeous! I feel strangely conflicted about the blurb and I think I’ll wait to see what friends think of it before giving in to the pretty, but I’m excited for the new series potential 😀

    1. I definitely have cover lust and heart-eyes going on for this one! Yeah, it’s definitely romance heavy. I have high hopes, and you can rest assured that I’ll let you know how it is. 😉

  3. Heck yes I’m going to jump in on this one right from the get go so I don’t feel on behind like with Throne of Glass

    1. Preach it Tabitha! The story of my life is being behind on major YA series, but not this time!!

That cover is amazing, let’s just talk about that. The book also sounds pretty close to Stolen Songbird.
