Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. The weekly event is meant to showcase eagerly anticipated upcoming releases…and to spread the word! This week I’m excited about:

23006161Title: Deceptions (Cainsville #3)

Author: Kelley Armstrong

Publisher: Sphere

Anticipated Release Date: August 6, 2015

Olivia’s life has exploded. She’s discovered she’s not only adopted, but her real parents are convicted serial killers. Fleeing the media frenzy, she took refuge in the oddly secluded town of Cainsville. She has since solved the town’s mysteries and finds herself not only the target of its secretive elders, but also her stalker ex-fiancé.

Visions continue to haunt her: particularly a little blond girl in a green sundress who insists she has an important message for Olivia, one that may help her balance the light and darkness within herself. Death stalks Olivia and the two men most important to her, as she desperately searches to understand whether ancient scripts are dictating their triangle. Will darkness prevail or does Olivia have the power to prevent a tragic fate?

Everyone who regularly reads this blog probably knows about my love of Kelley Armstrong’s books, especially her Cainsville series. This series is one of my absolute favourites and I can’t wait to see what Liv and Gabriel uncover next about their heritage and Liv’s parents. Personally I think this synopsis is terrible – don’t let the mention of a love triangle fool you: yes, there’s romance, but it certainly doesn’t dominate the story. And I think we all know who’s gonna come out on top of that triangle…just saying.

So far this image is the only example of cover art that we have for Deceptions, but I’m hoping that the Canadian publisher – Doubleday – went a different direction with the cover art. The cover isn’t bad or anything, I just don’t think it reflects the series. And of course, it has no continuity with the other releases in the series. Cover art issues aside, Deceptions by Kelley Armstrong is easily my most anticipated book of 2015.
